NEW YORK, September 24 (newratings.com) - American Electric Power Inc (AEP.NYS) Monday announced that it had signed a long-term power purchase agreement for renewable wind energy with Camp Grove Wind Farm LLC.

The Columbus-based energy company said the purchase will be made by its subsidiary Appalachian Power Co. Under the 20-year agreement, Appalachian Power will buy 75 MW of wind energy from the 150 MW plant that is being constructed by the Camp Grove Wind Farm, which is expected to be online by the end of 2007, American Electric Power added. Pricing terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to regulatory approval.
